Amy Huffman is fascinated by the power and ability data have to explain how the world works. She is particularly interested in and writes mostly about the intersection of technology, economic development, startups and the economy. Amy’s writing on startups and the startup ecosystem has been featured in ExitEvent, a news site covering entrepreneurs based in the Southeast, and WRAL Techwire. She is an experienced researcher and her master’s research paper was accepted for presentation and published by the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) in 2012. Amy is also passionate about public service, good governance, and politics and holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a BA in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. When not writing, Amy can be found volunteering as a board member of the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV) or building forts with her four-year-old son in North Carolina where they reside.
